How does it work?

Your unique QR code is scanned or NFC tapped that activates a responsive pay page, it's just one click away to leave a tip of your choice using Apple Pay, Google Pay or any debit/credit card details (most often auto-fill)

What are QR Codes?

A QR code (quick response code) is a type of 2D bar code that is used to provide easy access to information (a web address) through a smartphone

What mobile phones can scan a QR Code? 

All new iPhones will scan a QR Code using the camera (iPhone 7, 7s, 8 10 & X, XS) + new Android phones (Samsung, HTC, Huawei, Google)

What is NFC?

NFC is short for Near Field Communication. It's a wireless communication technology that enables the exchange of data between devices. In other words when a mobile phone taps your tippmee card or any other product we promote that is NFC tagged it activates your personalised pay page so tippers can tip you from their phone

What mobile phones work with NFC?

All new Android phones (Samsung, HTC, Huawei, Google) + iPhone XS, XR, 11 & 11pro + all new phones from January 2020

Are my tips secure?

Yes, we do NOT store any bank details with tippmee and all tips that are paid are stored with our payment partners. Please see our Terms & Conditions for more information about our payment platform partners. 

Can anyone see my bank details when getting a tip?

Absolutely not. Your bank details are stored securely with our payment platform partners (check our T&C's) and your pay page that shows up on a mobile screen can only be used to pay a tip to you

Is my pay page personalised?

Yes, your name appears on the screen with a 'thank you' note. Your pay page screen and your 'thank you' note can appear in any language

Can I get my tips paid in Euro's and/or Dollars?

Yes, when you sign up for an account you tell us where you want to receive tips. Our system will can take tips in approximately 10 different currencies including British Pound, Euros, US Dollars, Krona, Australian Dollars, Zloty, Russian Ruble, Indian Rupee and many more

How often do I get paid?

All tips are paid out immediately when funds clear so once you get going you get paid out constantly. This is standard, however, we are talking to many businesses about instant payouts so we are flexible

Is there credit card transaction fees?

Yes, there are the normal card processing and transaction fees of approx 1.4% + 20p. These fees get lower with volume transactions and will update our website with these changes. Fees are passed on to the tipper.

What do tippmee charge?

Our average transaction fee is between 1% and 5% so lower than anyone else. Our commission fee includes all our international transaction fees + our investment to keep the tech updated and super fast for our users

How do I know if I've been tipped?

Every time you get a tip you receive a WhatsApp message on your mobile + an email confirming the amount and the time/date. Users can log in anytime to your dashboard to check your balance

Do I have to pay tax?

You should pay tax on all tips, cash or bank transferred as it is income. However, you maybe exempt depending on your employment status. We advise you to seek advice from an accountant or tax specialist to confirm this

What's the difference between cash tips and tippmee?

Nothing, if someone wants to tip in cash that's OK, but you will find with tippmee especially with a personalised card you can hold that up and simply ask for a tip! Go by our motto....'IF YOU DON'T ASK, YOU DON'T GET'. You will really see your funds roll in!
